Sunny Days on the Bluebell Railway

Programme number: BLS005
Running time: 28 minutes approx.
Available on Steam Age Pictures Volume 12

Sat. 17th June 2006 (9:19)

The Merchant Navy Locomotive Preservations Society's AGM was held at Sheffield Park station, so I took my camera with me and made a day of it. I started at Horsted Keynes, moved down to Sheffield Park for the meeting, and rounded off the day (with permission) by the line side at the top of Freshfield Bank.

Sat. 4th November 2006 (18:32)

The weather forecast looked really good, there was no mainline tour in the south, and I’d heard on the grapevine that there would be five locomotives in steam and lots of vintage carriages. Since I’d never filmed nor ridden on the northern section of the line, I decided to concentrate on this part. I started at Horsted Keynes again, took a ride up to Kingscote, then walked up the footpath beside the line from HK. I finished off with a couple of shots around Sharpthorne tunnel and the site of West Hoathley station (now demolished).

More details of the locos and carriages are available on the Bluebell web-site.
